As his skills and stature grew, he was recognized as the Soul Choice Record Pool DJ of the year in 2001. In 2003, Starski entered the remix fray and began producing remixes for Crooklyn Clan. It wasn't long before he was recognized as one of the leaders of Crooklyn Clan, and his production work consistently is ranked at the top of the Crooklyn Clan charts. At the age of twenty, DJ ASE started to circulate his demo CD's and began his first residency at Atlantis Nightclub. After graduating college, he worked at making music his full time career. It was when he turned twenty four that he realized this dream. From the money he had saved up performing, he opened a fully equipped home office and professional music studio. Music has taken him to work in major cities outside Toronto including Montreal, Miami, Mexico and Jamaica. Today DJ ASE is in demand, playing the top nightclubs in the megacity's massive dance party scene from Thursday to Saturday. Residencies includes; Lago Supperclub ( Ottawa), Republik nightclub, Nava restaurant and Bar and BodyEnglish nightclub as well he is the Official in-store DJ for GUESS Canada . DJ ASE has highlighted corporate events for Scotiabank, Ford Models, Rocawear Clothing, Guess Canada , Rogers Wireless and UMM Magazine. Having performed as a DJ/Turntablist alongside pioneers like DJ Q-Bert, DJ Craze, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Mix Master Mike, Dopey solidified his role amongst these innovative DJ’s formally by winning the most coveted DJ title of them all, he became 2003’s WORLD DMC CHAMPION.
